Black Cockatoo Distillery Cellar Door
Wander through our small orchard up to our converted barn – our home among the gum trees – well, marri to be precise. Using recycled timber for our bar and reclaimed jarrah bar top, our Cellar Door has been a labour of love over the past 12 months.
Come spend some time in the bush sipping the taste of the southern forests. We would love to meet you, hear your favourite experiences with our locally-made award-winning gins, or help your family and friends discover their new favourite!

Weddings and events
Make this piece of paradise home for your special event. Here, on the edge of town, overlooking the trees to the Blackwood River for weddings, big birthdays, or just because – tailored to your event.

Getting there
- Navigate to 1 Fox Road, Bridgetown, Western Australia.

Artist in residence: Trish Durham
Now to Sunday 9 August 2026
Explore Habitat and Home mixed media artworks celebrating nature, sanctuary and joy. Artworks span paintings, drawings, sculptures and jewellery. Exhibition proceeds go to a black cockatoo nesting box. See a variety of Trish’s artworks at the Black Cockatoo Cellar Door, chat with Trish about her inspirations and methods, and see her working on new creations.
“Habitat and Home” is, on one level, a simple celebration of this beautiful region we are privileged to call home. It is also a look at what these two words can encompass. Home as sanctuary, safe space – a place to land. Habitat, whilst home to some, viewed as expendable resources by others.
I love to create uniquely beautiful artworks that bring joy, even comfort but at some level also engage and raise awareness. An inherent part of my arts practice is using reclaimed, repurposed and recycled materials. I love Nature and all she brings to our lives and believe we should do the best we can by her.
Proceeds from my exhibition will go towards building a black cockatoo nesting box, this endeavour aligns with the ethos embraced by Rachel and Peter at Black Cockatoo Distillery and their pledge to commit 10% of profits to Karaakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.
I am inspired and excited to share this exhibition as a part of the Fridgetown Festival 2026.
